Sowt Launches ‘Shamandar,’ First Arabic Children’s Podcast Channel
Sowt, a leading independent podcast production company, has officially launched ‘Shamandar,’ a new Arabic podcast channel designed for children, during the fourth edition of the Dubai PodFest.
Organized by the Dubai Press Club (DPC), the event emphasized the importance of digital innovation and quality audio content for Arabic-speaking audiences.
Ramsey Tesdell, Founder and CEO of Sowt, expressed his excitement over the channel’s launch, stating,
“We invite Arab families to discover our inspiring range of programs designed to educate, entertain, and deepen children’s connection to Arab language, culture, and heritage.”
Mahfoudha Abdullah, Project Manager of Dubai PodFest, praised the platform's role in supporting the Arab podcasting industry. She highlighted the significance of launching the first children-focused podcast during the event, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
‘Shamandar’ will feature original content and collaborations with popular children’s creators like Adam Wa Mishmish, blending music and education, and Dar Al Salwa, an award-winning publisher of Arabic children’s books. These partnerships aim to enrich children's understanding of their language and culture.
The trial phase of ‘Shamandar’ is available on Apple Podcasts and other platforms, with new episodes released regularly. This launch further underscores DPC’s commitment to promoting future digital trends and high-quality audio content.
