Thailand to Launch E-Visa for Bangladeshis on January 2
Thailand is set to simplify travel for Bangladeshis with the launch of its e-visa service on January 2, 2025. The service will streamline the visa application process for greater convenience.
The Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka announced that official passport holders from Bangladesh will also be exempt from visa requirements starting December 19, 2024.
With the new e-visa system, applicants can complete the process online via https://www.thaievisa.go.th. Passports no longer need to be submitted physically. Approved visas will be sent via email and must be printed and presented upon entry to Thailand.
Key Details:
- Payment Process: Due to technical limitations, applicants must transfer the visa fee to the Thai Embassy's bank account via https://www.combank.net.bd/thaievisa and upload the payment summary. Cash payments are not accepted.
- Processing Time: Visas will be processed within 10 working days.
- Transition Period: From December 24, 2024, the Thai Embassy will no longer accept applications through its visa centres.
Detailed guidelines for the e-visa process are available on the official website. This move marks a significant step towards enhancing travel convenience for Bangladeshi visitors to Thailand.
