UAE Cabinet Approves Key Initiatives Including Education Council Entrepreneurship Fund and Zero Bureaucracy Award
The UAE Cabinet, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, convened its final meeting of 2024 at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi.
Attended by key officials, the meeting underscored the UAE’s achievements and approved several pivotal initiatives.
Sheikh Mohammed hailed 2024 as a year of exceptional progress, with the UAE ranking first globally in 223 development indicators, and excelling in sectors like economy, digital infrastructure, and trade.
“As we look towards 2025, we are confident it will bring even greater achievements,”
he stated.
Key decisions included the establishment of the Education, Human Development, and Community Council, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, focusing on enhancing education and social development. Additionally, an AED 300 million Entrepreneurship Fund was approved to support youth projects, alongside the formation of the UAE Entrepreneurship Council.
The Cabinet also endorsed the National Policy for Preserving Modern Architectural Heritage to safeguard the nation’s iconic structures, with plans to expand identified sites to 1,000.
To foster innovation, a "Zero Bureaucracy Award" worth AED 7 million was launched, rewarding federal employees who streamline processes and reduce regulatory burdens.
Other approvals included restructuring the UAE Space Agency and Industrial Development Council, new measures for combating illicit trade, and signing 25 international agreements. These initiatives reflect the UAE’s ongoing commitment to innovation, competitiveness, and sustainable growth.
