UAE Cardholders Favor Airport Lounge Access Above All Other Travel Benefits
A recent study by Collinson International reveals that airport lounge access is the top travel-related perk among UAE consumers. The study shows that 69% of UAE consumers would consider switching payment providers if they lost this benefit, highlighting its significant influence on consumer loyalty.
Travel rewards remain the most sought-after cardholder benefits, with nearly half prioritizing airport lounge access, followed by complimentary airport transfers (43%) and discounts on airport dining and shopping (42%).
The study also indicates that 66% of respondents would use their cards more frequently if the benefits were appealing, and almost half prioritize rewards over the issuer's reputation. This underscores the importance of attractive, personalized rewards in retaining customers.
Collinson International, a global leader in airport experiences and customer engagement, stresses the necessity for card issuers to offer highly desirable services that enhance travel experiences to remain competitive. Priyanka Lakhani, Senior Vice President of Commercial EMEA at Collinson International, emphasizes the importance of aligning benefits with consumer desires, particularly for affluent customer segments.
The findings highlight the need for card issuers to adapt and offer compelling travel-related benefits to retain their customer base in the UAE.
