UAE Federal Public Prosecution Unveils AI-Powered Digital System to Revolutionize Criminal Justice
The UAE Federal Public Prosecution has announced the launch of an innovative artificial intelligence (AI)-driven digital system to enhance and accelerate judicial processes.
This system, a pioneering initiative in the UAE, is part of the Public Prosecution’s broader strategy to integrate advanced technologies in criminal justice, supporting the country's digital transformation objectives.
The announcement followed a cooperation agreement with AI71, a leader in AI solutions development, which is part of the Advanced Technology Research Council. The agreement was signed in Abu Dhabi by Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, Advisor to the UAE President for Strategic Research and Advanced Technology Affairs, and Counsellor Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, UAE Attorney General, in the presence of several officials.
The AI-powered system aims to improve investigation efficiency, legal support, and the speed of judicial decisions. Its advanced capabilities include conducting precise legal research, organizing case facts, annotating multimedia evidence, and linking case details to legal precedents in real-time. These features are designed to streamline legal processes and enhance the criminal justice system’s transparency and effectiveness.
Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi highlighted that this initiative marks a strategic step toward achieving swift justice through modern technology, reflecting the Public Prosecution’s commitment to innovation. Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai emphasized the UAE's global leadership in AI, noting that this collaboration forms a new vision for legal innovation in the region.
This groundbreaking system is expected to set new standards in AI's role within criminal justice, solidifying the UAE's position as a leader in legal and technological innovation.
