UAE Launches AI Charter to Lead Global Innovation and Ethical Standards

The UAE's Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office has launched the Charter for the Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence, aligning with the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence.

This initiative aims to position the UAE as a global hub for AI innovation, guided by the vision of the country's leadership.

Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, highlighted the UAE's commitment to becoming a global leader in AI. The government is focused on building digital infrastructure and an integrated system for AI across all vital sectors. The Charter emphasizes creating a secure and private environment to enhance public trust in AI technologies.

Al Olama noted the UAE's role in raising awareness about AI's importance and its efforts to establish global partnerships and standards for the responsible use of AI. The Charter aims to provide equitable and accessible AI solutions, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and protecting individual and community rights.

The principles outlined in the Charter focus on safety, fairness, inclusivity, and compliance, promoting a harmonious relationship between humans and machines.
