UAE's Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation outlines key rights for all workers in the country
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has provided guidance to employees, urging them to take action against employers who fail to pay complete wages on time or withhold identification documents. Additionally, the MoHRE emphasized that the right to leave a job is fundamental for workers.
In a social media post, the ministry also emphasized that workers should not bear the cost of obtaining a work permit and advised them to retain a signed copy of their employment offer. The ministry emphasized that workers' rights are safeguarded in the UAE, with a focus on fostering a productive and innovative work environment.
The ministry's post concluded with an invitation for workers to reach out through official channels if they encounter any of the mentioned situations.
As per the MOHRE, if you are employed in the UAE, it's crucial to steer clear of or inform the Ministry about encountering any of these situations:
- You don’t keep your identification documents
- You bear travel and work permit costs
- You sign a contract with different terms from the job offer
- You don’t keep a copy of your employment offer
- You don’t receive full wages on time
- The establishment doesn’t provide the specified job opportunity
