The UAE National Pavilion is gearing up to participate in the 14th Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX) 2024, set to take place from September 3-5 at Aqaba International Exhibitions and Conferences Centre in Jordan.
SOFEX, one of the region's foremost defence events, will host over 300 international defence and security companies from 38 countries, making it a key platform for showcasing advanced products and fostering international cooperation in special operations and homeland security.
Supported by the UAE’s Ministry of Defence and Tawazun Council, and organized by the Emirates Defence Companies Council (EDCC), the pavilion will feature prominent national companies such as EDGE Group, Al Seer Marine, and Houbara Defence and Security. These companies will present a wide range of innovative solutions, from advanced systems to cutting-edge technologies. The pavilion will also promote the upcoming International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) and Naval Defence & Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX) 2025, alongside Al Jundi Journal, a military magazine issued by the Ministry of Defence.
Anas Naser Al Otaiba, General Manager of EDCC, emphasized the importance of the UAE's participation, stating it reflects the country’s commitment to innovation and international cooperation in the defence sector. He highlighted that SOFEX 2024 will not only showcase Emirati technologies but also foster strategic partnerships with global defence companies.
Hervé Dechoux, Head of Solutions at Houbara, expressed enthusiasm for participating in SOFEX, noting the opportunity to showcase their breakthrough secure SATCOM solution, BRACER, and advanced field robotics.
