UAE to Introduce Unified Licence Enabling Medical Professionals to Work Nationwide

The UAE is set to revolutionize its healthcare sector with the introduction of a unified national platform for licensing healthcare workers, a senior official at the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced.

The initiative aims to streamline licensing processes, allowing medical professionals to practice seamlessly across public and private healthcare facilities nationwide.

“This is a national project in the health sector, consolidating efforts from health entities across the UAE into one platform,”

said Alla Mansour Yahya, Acting Director of the Licensing and Accreditation Department at MoHAP. Currently, each health entity issues licenses based on its own requirements. The new system will unify these processes, standardize procedures, and eliminate repetitive requirements, she explained.

Although the platform's exact launch date has not been disclosed, Yahya confirmed that the project is in its final stages and will be implemented soon. She emphasized that the unified platform would significantly reduce the time and effort required for professionals to obtain their licenses, thereby enhancing efficiency across the sector.

The platform is designed to benefit a wide range of stakeholders, including facility owners, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, allied medical specialists, and technical staff. By standardizing procedures and minimizing redundancies, it is expected to improve the user experience and expedite the licensing process.

This initiative underscores the UAE’s commitment to enhancing its healthcare infrastructure, ensuring seamless transitions for professionals, and boosting the efficiency of the nation's healthcare system.
