UAE Visit Visa Requirements: Proof of Dh3,000 Funds and Return Tickets Now Mandatory Before Application

Travel agents in the UAE are advising visitors to ensure all documentation is in order before applying for visit visas, following the introduction of stricter requirements aimed at preventing misuse of visas.

New guidelines now mandate that applicants submit proof of stay, such as a hotel booking or a relative's residence address, and evidence of sufficient funds prior to submitting their visa applications. Previously, travelers were only required to show these documents at the airport, along with a return ticket and a minimum of Dh3,000 in cash.

Mir Wasim Raja, manager at Galadari International Travel Services, explained that these changes were designed to ensure visitors can financially sustain themselves during their stay.

“Applicants must now submit these documents before applying for a visa,”

he said.

Agents have reported an increase in visa rejections due to incomplete documentation. Masiuddin Mohammed, founder of SuperJet Tours and Travels LLC, noted that a few visas were approved because the paperwork was in order, while others were delayed or denied. Similarly, Firoz Maliyakkal, CEO of Tahira Tours and Travels, emphasized that travelers must ensure their passport is valid for at least six months and that they meet the necessary financial requirements.

Taha Siddique, owner of Siddique Tours and Travels, also highlighted the importance of proper documentation, citing recent cases of visa rejections due to incomplete paperwork.

With these new procedures, travel agents are stressing the importance of careful document preparation and consulting trusted agencies to ensure a smooth visa application process.
