Yango App Launches New Integrated Public Transport Feature in Dubai
Yango Group, a global tech innovator, has unveiled a new feature within its Yango app aimed at revolutionizing urban mobility in Dubai.
This latest addition integrates comprehensive public transport information seamlessly into Yango's existing ride-hailing, rentals, and delivery services.
The newly introduced public transport section within the Yango app offers users detailed route maps, schedules, and estimated travel times for buses, metro, and other transport modes. Users can now plan their journeys effortlessly within a single platform by simply entering their destination. The app provides clear guidance throughout the journey, including transfer details, exit directions for metro stations, walking distances, and stop information for buses and trains.
This integration comes at a time when Dubai's public transport usage is on the rise, as evidenced by the Roads and Transport Authority's recent data showing a jump in ridership during the Eid Al Adha holiday. Passenger numbers surged from 6.4 million in 2023 to 6.7 million in 2024, underscoring a growing preference for reliable and convenient transportation options.
Islam Abdul Karim, General Manager of Yango GCC, emphasized the company's commitment to enhancing Dubai's transportation landscape. He stated,
"Our goal is to streamline the travel experience by consolidating essential transport information into one user-friendly platform. This initiative aligns with our dedication to innovation and our mission to redefine urban mobility in Dubai."
Moreover, Yango's initiative supports sustainable transportation solutions, with 15% of its partner fleet comprising electric vehicles. This aligns with the UAE's ambitious targets to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions, aiming for a significant increase in EV adoption by 2050. Yango plans to extend its integrated public transport service to Abu Dhabi, further enhancing connectivity and convenience across the region.
