The 19th annual conference of the Middle East Academy of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery kicked off in Dubai this morning at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City.

More than 1,000 doctors and specialists from 31 countries were participating in the conference to improve and expand their clinical skills, showcase their research work, and enhance the quality of patient care.

Dr. Islam Herzallah, Professor of Nose Surgery, said that ear, nose, and throat surgery has evolved tremendously in the past few years and has been characterised by the diversity of delicate and complex cases that serve all categories of patients of all ages.

He explained that this year, the conference will cover the latest and latest developments related to hearing and cochlear implants, rehabilitation for patients with hearing problems, chronic sinus infections, snoring, apnaea, and imbalance problems. It will discuss a variety of topics, ranging from the latest diagnostic technologies to pioneering surgical developments, and emerging treatment methods where various lectures will be given on allergic rhinitis, paediatric surgery of ear, nose, and throat, rhinoplasty, head and neck surgery, ear surgery and vestibular fixation, ENT, audiology and others

He stated that the participants in the conference will present their latest experiences and research and the most successful ways to deal with ear, nose, and throat problems and sleep apnaea disorders to ensure that patients receive the best possible care. In addition, the latest solutions will be presented for adults and children suffering from diseases of the ear, neck, throat, and thyroid gland.

After that, Dr. Monas Tarabichi, Co-President of the Conference and Chairman of the Organising Committee, and Dr. Islam Herzallah, President of the Conference, honoured the doctors who provided great services in the field of ear, nose, and throat medicine

Once the conference concludes, the 21st TSESI sinus course workshops will be launched at the Neurology and Spine Hospital in Dubai Science Park to allow the largest possible number of doctors to attend specialized workshops. The doctors will be trained on human heads specially brought from the United States, two seminars for the industrial sector, in addition to 30 Heinz Stamberger Research Competition for Residents (30 residents selected from all over the world).

In this contest, 22 companies from the most important pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers will participate as sponsors of the conference and listen to the exhibitors of medical devices and equipment, which are presented for the first time in the accompanying exhibition.
