The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) has launched the Industrial Technology Transformation Index (ITTI) Use-Case Guide to provide manufacturers and key stakeholders with insights and recommendations on key Industry 4.0 technologies and sector-specific sustainability initiatives.
The comprehensive guide, based on ITTI assessments, outlines over 90 high-impact use cases from 1,530 Industry 4.0 applications and sustainability initiatives, representing a potential market opportunity of AED1.5 billion. It also highlights advanced technology trends across nine priority sectors in the UAE's industrial landscape. This initiative aligns with the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology "Operation 300Bn" to enhance innovation, accelerate technology adoption, support local industry growth, and improve global competitiveness.
Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, emphasizes the UAE's commitment to supporting industrial and technological growth by establishing a conducive ecosystem with legal frameworks, incentives, and investment opportunities. The ministry aims to enhance the competitiveness of national industries and boost their GDP contribution. The ITTI Use-Case Guide was launched during a masterclass for C-Suite leaders from the UAE’s major industrial companies, SMEs, tech providers, and academia. Titled ‘The Innovation Imperative: Future-Proofing Your Manufacturing with Cutting-Edge Tech,’ the event discussed top Industry 4.0 use cases, strategies, insights, and technologies. Attendees explored integration challenges and opportunities. Developed from meticulous assessments, the guide outlines sector-specific use cases across 20 charters, aiding UAE manufacturers in digital transformation. It highlights upcoming use cases like ‘Predictive Maintenance for Shopfloor Machinery’ and ‘Automating Enterprise Processes Using RPAs,’ aiming to unlock market opportunities.
The ITTI was launched under the Technology Transformation Programme in February 2023 with the aim of empowering companies to begin and accelerate their digital transformations. It is a comprehensive tool for measuring a plant's digital and sustainability maturity, and providing a customised roadmap for smarter, more sustainable production.
