The 1 Billion Followers Summit and TikTok have joined forces to launch the first global Educator Award, a new initiative designed to spotlight creators who are reshaping how audiences learn online.

The competition opens on 24 November 2025 and invites creators from the MENA region, Africa, the UK, and the USA to submit educational content on TikTok until 21 December 2025. Participants are encouraged to share videos that inspire curiosity, simplify complex topics, and make learning accessible to diverse communities.

The award will be hosted during the fourth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, taking place in Dubai from 9 to 11 January 2026 across Emirates Towers, DIFC, and the Museum of the Future. Three finalists will be flown to Dubai for a fully hosted experience, where the winner will be announced and awarded a US$100,000 prize.

Khadija Hussain, Executive Director of Government Communication at the UAE Government Media Office, said the partnership reflects the Summit’s mission to empower creators and support meaningful educational innovation. She highlighted the role of quality learning content in fostering community development and equipping youth with knowledge.

TikTok’s Regional General Manager of Operations, Kinda Ibrahim, said the award celebrates creators who blend creativity with learning, turning everyday moments into lessons that resonate globally.

Creators are encouraged to submit entries under themes including Humanities, Personal Development, School Education, Science and Innovation, and Business and Finance. Regional hashtags apply, including #EducatorAward and additional tags for the US and UK.

The initiative builds on TikTok’s #LearnOnTikTok movement and aims to elevate educational creators on an international stage, reinforcing the UAE’s position as a hub for innovative digital content.
