The fourth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit concluded in Dubai after three days of intensive dialogue, setting new benchmarks for global participation and digital engagement while reinforcing the UAE’s position at the forefront of the content creation economy.

Organised by the UAE Government Media Office, the summit was held from January 9 to 11 across Emirates Towers, Dubai International Financial Centre and the Museum of the Future under the theme Content for Good. The event brought together creators, platforms and policymakers to explore how digital content can drive positive social and economic impact.

The summit drew more than 30,000 attendees, including over 15,000 content creators and influencers. Its official hashtag ranked among the most followed worldwide, generating millions of views and interactions across platforms. The programme featured more than 580 sessions delivered by over 500 global speakers with a combined audience exceeding 3.5 billion followers.

Minister of UAE Cabinet Affairs Mohammad Al Gergawi said the summit marked a significant leap in positioning the UAE as a global leader in the content economy, with a strong focus on meaningful and responsible digital content. He noted that artificial intelligence was a central theme, aimed at equipping creators with advanced tools to expand their reach and impact.

A key highlight was the launch of the AI Film Award in partnership with Google Gemini, which awarded a $1 million grand prize to filmmaker Zoubeir Jlassi for his film Lily. The competition attracted more than 30,000 entries from 116 countries.

The summit also announced strategic partnerships with major global platforms and launched initiatives promoting education, humanitarian action and community engagement. Building on this momentum, the fifth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit will take place from January 8 to 10, 2027, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
