Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, officially inaugurated the 2nd Edition of the Japan-Kyoto Trade Exhibition at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) on February 10, 2025.

The exhibition, showcasing over 120 Japanese companies and brands, emphasizes the UAE’s growing role as a strategic hub for Japanese trade and investment in the Middle East.

In his opening speech, Dr. Al Zeyoudi highlighted the strengthening of UAE-Japanese relations, noting that non-oil trade between the two nations reached US$17.7 billion in 2024, a 2.2% increase from the previous year. Japan is the UAE's ninth-largest trading partner globally, and the two nations are working on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

Mai Sakaue, CEO of Maico Enterprise, which organizes the exhibition, expressed excitement about the event's growth, with over 100 exhibitors from sectors like technology, aerospace, food, and healthcare. She also noted the participation of Japanese startups eager to explore investment opportunities in the UAE's pro-business environment.

The exhibition is set to become an annual fixture, fostering trade, investment, and cultural exchange between Japan and the UAE. With around 30,000 visitors expected, the event offers valuable opportunities for networking and exploring new business avenues in the Middle East and beyond.

The 2025 edition of the Japan Trade Exhibition underscores the UAE's importance as a gateway for Japanese companies seeking expansion and collaboration in the region.
