Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) proudly hosted the 30th ITS World Congress and Exhibition from September 16-20, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The event attracted over 25,000 participants from 100 countries, marking the highest attendance in the congress's history.

During the five-day event, more than 800 speakers, including global experts in sustainable mobility, participated in 200 sessions focused on future developments in smart transportation. The congress featured an exhibition with 500 exhibitors showcasing innovative technologies and solutions in mobility.

Mattar Al Tayer, RTA Director-General, and Angelos Amditis, Director-General of ERTICO Europe, led the closing ceremony, where they symbolically passed the globe to representatives of the next hosting city, Atlanta, USA, for the 2025 edition. Future congresses will take place in Gangneung, South Korea in 2026, and Birmingham, UK in 2027.

Amditis expressed gratitude to Dubai and the RTA for their successful hosting, emphasizing the event's role in fostering discussions about mobility and smart systems. He also announced the launch of a new aerial services platform by ERTICO.

Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of the RTA's Corporate Administrative Support Sector, highlighted the congress's focus on urban mobility, innovation, sustainable transportation, and autonomous systems, stating that the event was a significant milestone in advancing smart transportation discussions in the MENA region.
