H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, inaugurated the 45th edition of Big 5 Global, the largest construction sector event in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.

Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from November 26-29, the event brings together over 100,000 professionals from 165 countries and features 2,700 exhibitors showcasing 60,000 innovative products.

During his tour, Sheikh Ahmed underscored the construction sector’s pivotal role in driving the UAE’s economic growth and innovation, aligning with the nation’s sustainability and climate action goals. He highlighted how Dubai’s advanced infrastructure and global connectivity position it as a leading city for urban development and investment opportunities.

The event was also marked by the Big 5 Global Leaders’ Summit, opened by Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure.

Al Mazrouei lauded the UAE’s leadership in integrating sustainability into the construction industry through cutting-edge technologies, strict standards, and initiatives like the UAE National Guide for Smart Construction. He emphasized that innovation, such as the 3D Digital Twin project, plays a crucial role in enhancing urban planning and sustainability.

“The challenges of sustainability require strong public-private sector collaboration,”

Al Mazrouei stated, praising Big 5 Global as a platform for knowledge exchange and fostering partnerships that drive global progress in sustainable construction.

With co-located events like LiveableCitiesX and HVAC R Expo, Big 5 Global continues to solidify Dubai’s reputation as a hub for innovation and excellence in the construction sector.
