The UAE is emerging as a global leader in artificial intelligence adoption and trust, with 97 percent of residents using AI for work, study, or personal purposes, according to KPMG’s Trust in Artificial Intelligence Insights report.

Conducted with the University of Melbourne, the study highlights the UAE’s position as a benchmark for responsible AI adoption. Nearly 89 percent of respondents said they experience the benefits of AI, compared to the global average of 83 percent, underscoring the country’s rapid progress in digital literacy and innovation.

Organisations in the UAE are also taking structured steps toward AI governance, with 66 percent reporting formal policies on generative AI use. The findings reflect both strong integration of AI across sectors and growing public confidence in its value.

Trust in AI-generated information is notably high, with 65 percent of respondents willing to rely on AI systems, while 53 percent believe the technology’s benefits outweigh potential risks. Furthermore, 68 percent said current regulations are sufficient to ensure safe AI use—significantly higher than the global average of 43 percent.

However, caution remains. Around 73 percent of respondents expressed concern about the authenticity of online content, and 36 percent were unsure of their ability to spot AI-generated misinformation.

“AI is rapidly changing the way we live and work,”

said Matin Jouzdani, Partner, Data, Analytics and AI at KPMG Lower Gulf.

“Our research reinforces an overwhelming acceptance of AI in the UAE, but there is also strong public support for appropriate AI regulation.”
