The Department of Community Development (DCD) in Abu Dhabi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PureHealth, the largest healthcare group in the Middle East, to empower and integrate people of determination into the workforce and broader society.
The partnership aims to employ around 100 people of determination over the next two years, while also developing services and programs that support them and their families.
Hamad Ali Al Dhaheri, Under-Secretary of DCD, emphasized the importance of this partnership in enhancing the role of the private sector in providing essential services to people of determination, in line with the Abu Dhabi Strategy for People of Determination.
This initiative underscores the DCD's commitment to improving the quality of life and ensuring fair and inclusive integration of people of determination into society.
Shaista Asif, Group CEO of PureHealth, highlighted that this partnership aligns with the UAE’s vision to create a truly inclusive society. PureHealth also launched the "Empowering Abilities Programme" to support inclusion within the health sector by providing flexible working hours, assistive technologies, and accessible facilities.
In addition to employment, the MoU covers improving data systems, enhancing social care services, and advancing research and innovation to support independent living and better policies for people of determination. This collaboration will also expand PureHealth's “PureHeroes” volunteer program to serve people of determination across various specialities.
The initiative marks a significant step in the UAE’s efforts to foster inclusivity, improve quality of life, and harness the potential of all citizens.
