ADNOC has launched RoboWell, an innovative autonomous well-control solution developed by AIQ, at its offshore NASR field.

This groundbreaking deployment marks the world's first offshore implementation of RoboWell, showcasing ADNOC's commitment to integrating advanced technologies to enhance efficiency and ensure a secure energy supply.

In collaboration with Abu Dhabi-based AIQ, RoboWell employs cloud-based AI algorithms to autonomously manage wells, adapting to changing conditions. This capability improves safety, operational efficiency, and minimizes the need for physical interventions, thereby reducing emissions.

Abdulmunim Saif Al Kindy, ADNOC’s Upstream Executive Director, emphasized the significance of this deployment in meeting global energy demands responsibly.

"Our goal is to become the world’s most AI-enabled energy company, integrating AI across our operations,"

he stated.

The NASR field, located 130 kilometers northwest of Abu Dhabi, is fully digital and utilizes advanced technologies to optimize production while minimizing environmental impact. Initially, RoboWell has been deployed across 10 wells, with plans for expansion to over 300 wells in ADNOC's offshore and onshore operations this year.

AIQ CEO Dr. Chris Cooper highlighted RoboWell's effectiveness, reporting up to 30% optimization in gas lift consumption and a 5% increase in operating efficiency. This partnership exemplifies how AI can unlock greater value in the energy sector, reinforcing ADNOC's position as a leader in resource optimization.

RoboWell was developed at ADNOC's Thamama Excellence Center, a hub for big data and smart analytics, further solidifying the company’s commitment to innovative energy solutions.
