26th Edition of WETEX Kicks Open in Dubai
Dubai, under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, continues to solidify its position as a global leader in clean energy and sustainability.
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, inaugurated the 26th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) on October 1st at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The event, organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), features over 2,800 companies from 65 countries, offering a platform to showcase the latest innovations in clean energy and environmental sustainability. The exhibition highlights Dubai's efforts towards a green economy and the UAE’s commitment to addressing global climate challenges.
Sheikh Ahmed emphasized the importance of sustainability and energy security, stating that WETEX fosters international collaboration, stimulates investment, and encourages strategic partnerships to accelerate sustainable development globally.
The opening ceremony was attended by key officials, including Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. During the event, Sheikh Ahmed toured the exhibition, receiving briefings on cutting-edge projects like the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park and DEWA's Green Hydrogen initiative.
WETEX 2024 features international pavilions from countries including Italy, Germany, South Korea, and France, with participants showcasing advanced solutions in energy, water management, and green technologies. The exhibition continues through October 3rd, driving forward innovation and collaboration in clean energy sectors.
