H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Airline and Group, officially opened GITEX GLOBAL 2024 today at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
The event, which runs from October 14-18, marks its 44th edition, featuring over 6,500 exhibitors, 1,800 startups, and 1,200 investors from more than 180 countries, making it the most international and largest GITEX yet.
In his address, Sheikh Ahmed highlighted the significance of international collaboration in driving technological innovation, stating,
"GITEX GLOBAL 2024 embodies the UAE’s unwavering commitment to global digital economy leadership."
He emphasized how the event fosters entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and global partnerships that aim to shape the future.
This year’s theme, ‘Global Collaboration to Forge a Future AI Economy’, places artificial intelligence (AI) at the forefront. GITEX GLOBAL presents groundbreaking solutions across industries, with the Tech Investment Day kicking off discussions on AI’s potential to add $13 trillion to the global economy by 2030.
Among the event’s highlights are AI Everything, which hosts discussions on AI’s transformative role, and GITEX Editions, connecting 59 top global unicorns valued at $400 billion. The region’s largest data centre symposium will also debut, exploring innovations in AI-driven automation and cybersecurity.
With participation up by 40%, GITEX GLOBAL 2024 continues to position Dubai as a global hub for tech-driven economic transformation.
