Dubai hosts the AI Retreat 2024 on June 11, where leaders explore AI's local and global potential, aiming to accelerate its adoption across sectors.
Under the auspices of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the AI Retreat, held at the Museum of the Future and AREA 2071, Emirates Towers, gathers over 1,000 stakeholders including government officials, industry leaders, and tech giants. Organized by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) and the National Program for Artificial Intelligence, it initiates the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence (DUB.AI). The retreat aims to foster collaborations, explore trends, and establish Dubai as a global AI hub.
The AI Retreat serves as a platform for open discussions between government and private sector, aiming to maximise AI opportunities and achieve impactful, immediate outcomes. It facilitates open dialogue and direct communication between leadership, government and private sectors.
Event Highlights
The event will commence with a keynote featuring His Excellency Omar Sultan AlOlama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Deputy Managing Director of the Dubai Future Foundation. During this session, he will highlight the main objectives of the recently launched "Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence” which aims to accelerate the adoption of AI applications.
Panel Discussions
The event features keynote speeches and panel discussions led by global AI experts and industry leaders. Panels include discussions on Dubai's AI projects, government involvement in AI adoption, entrepreneurship growth, and regulatory innovation. Topics range from scaling local unicorns to the government's role in policy development and regulatory frameworks to support AI innovation. Discussions explore Dubai's ecosystem, regulatory landscape, and future expectations for AI development.
Outcome-Based Roundtables
The AI Retreat will host roundtables to drive progress. Topics include Data Regulation, emphasizing robust governance for ethical AI; Computing and Digital Infrastructure, crucial for Dubai's AI industry competitiveness; Funding and Finance, exploring investment strategies; and Talent Ecosystem, focusing on education and attracting skilled professionals to support Dubai's AI sector growth and innovation.
Specialised Workshops and Panels
The event will host various specialised workshops and panels by DFF’s strategic partners from the private and public sectors in AREA 2071, Emirates Towers Boulevard, including Microsoft, Google, IBM, Oracle, SAP, Amazon Web Services, Nvidia, DIFC Innovation Hub, Antler, and Samsung, among others.
