Ain Dubai, the world’s tallest observation wheel, reopened on December 25 after over two years of restoration work. Located on Bluewaters Island, the 250-metre-tall attraction welcomed hundreds of visitors during its soft opening, with ticket prices ranging from Dh145 to Dh1,260.
A Busy First Day
According to a security guard on-site, the reopening coincided with Christmas Day, drawing large crowds.
“Many visitors at the mall immediately booked tickets upon seeing it was open, and staff members also brought their families. It was incredibly busy, with hundreds—possibly thousands—of visitors,”
he said.
Exceeding Expectations
Emirati visitor Ahmed Hani, experiencing Ain Dubai for the first time, was awed by the panoramic views.
“My family and I caught the sunset, and it was breathtaking. Most people I met were first-time visitors, and many were excited about options like booking private, decorated pods for celebrations. It’s bound to be a popular choice among residents,”
he added.
A Lucky Discovery
Indonesian influencer Vina Muliana, visiting her sister in Dubai, was unaware of the reopening but decided to ride the wheel during a family trip to Bluewaters Island.
“I’ve been on Ferris wheels in Singapore and London, but Dubai’s is the tallest, and the views of Palm Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab were incredible,”
she said.
A Last-Minute Adventure
Polish tourists Janusz and Iwona spotted the wheel in motion from their hotel in Dubai Marina and decided to try it before leaving the city.
“We saw it wasn’t moving earlier, but yesterday evening it was operational, so we had to ride it,”
Janusz said.
“It’s our last day in Dubai, and we’re thrilled we got to experience this.”
An Iconic Experience
First opened to the public in 2021, Ain Dubai offers 38-minute rides with 360-degree views of Dubai’s skyline, making it a must-visit destination for residents and tourists alike.
