Al Dhafra Media Group has launched its new website, "7eNEWS", under the theme “The Truth and Beyond”.
Amina Al Dhaheri, Director-General of the Group, said that the UAE’s leadership has enabled the country’s media outlets, established sound operational frameworks for national media, and ensured transparency and integrity across the sector, offering enablers that allowed the growth of distinguished local media outlets, which have become models of responsible media freedom.
In her speech during the launch, Al Dhaheri stressed that the Al Dhafra Media Group, while keeping pace with recent developments, continued to preserve and promote the heritage, traditions and ethical values of the Emirati community, enabling it to acquire widespread popularity among audiences in the Emirati, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Arab communities.
On the website’s launch, Al Dhaheri said that 7eNEWS serves as an unbiased media and news platform that presents a wide variety of content, providing a meeting point between the Arab world and the West.
Omar Tahboub, Editor-in-Chief of 7eNEWS, said that the website aims to attract a wide variety of audiences, by producing content across the political, economic and sports news spectrum, in addition to op-eds by prominent Arab and international writers, adding that it will also feature audio content, such as poetry and podcasts.
For his part, Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director-General of the Emirates News Agency (WAM), stressed that the 7eNEWS website would be a valuable addition to the UAE’s national media, highlighting WAM’s keenness to provide all forms of support to national media outlets, to facilitate their expansion and efforts to spread positive news content.
He then lauded the website’s artistic vision and content, especially concerning local news in the UAE and its international and regional coverage.
Moreover, the launch saw a screening of a documentary that highlights the development process of the website, and the 7eNEWS overseas offices.
The launch ceremony was attended by a number of journalists, media professionals, businesspersons, poets and guests.
