Al Marmoom (Al Lisaili) has over 400 operating businesses, reveals report
A report issued by the Business Registration and Licensing (BRL) sector at the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), Dubai, states that the number of operating businesses in Al Marmoom (Al Lisaili) has reached 401 to date.
Of these, 65 per cent are Commercial, followed by Professional (35 per cent).
The report states the total number of licenses in Al Marmoom increased by 7% in 2021 to 574, compared to 536 in 2020. In terms of legal forms of the active licences, Sole Establishments ranked first at 52 per cent, followed by Limited Liability Companies (LLC) (33 per cent), and Civil Companies (7 per cent). The legal forms also include One-Person Limited Liability Companies, Branches of Companies based in other Emirates, Branches of Foreign Companies, and Public Shareholding Companies.

The top activities for the companies operating in the area include: Veterinary medicine; Restaurants; Preparation of snacks; General Trading; Perfumes and cosmetics; Horse gear & equestrian tools and supplies; Watches and spare parts; Groceries; and Auto spare parts.
The first ten licenses issued in Al Marmoom from 1980 to 1990 that are active to date include: Saeed Mohammed for Technical Services, Ateeq Mohammed Restaurant, Saif Butti Darwish Grocery, Marmum Dairy Farm (L.L.C), YKM International (L.L.C), New Asili Tailor, Al Marmoom Mill, Zamzam Auto Company (LLC), Al Lusaily Auto Repairing Garage, and Atiq Dahi Grocery.

Al Qudra lakes, a network of man-made lakes in the desert, is popular among visitors and residents. The area is home to over 170 species of birds, some of which are endangered, such as the steppe eagle and the Asian Houbara. Bird watching is a popular activity in this area.
Based at the Dubai Camel Race Club, which hosts traditional camel races, the Dubai Camel Racetrack is located right next to Al Marmoom Heritage Village. There is also the cycling track on Al Qudra road that attracts professional and amateur cyclists.
