'Al Sanaa' pavilion opens at Global Village
Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, inaugurated "Al Sanaa" pavilion for Emirati productive families at Global Village in Dubai, with the participation of 67 such families from 25th October, 2022 to 29th April, 2023, coinciding with the 27th season of Global Village.
The opening was attended by Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Office of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab, Ambassador Dr. Haifaa Abu Ghazala, Assistant Secretary General, Head of Social Affairs sector at League of Arab state, in addition to Moza Al Akraf Al Suwaidi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Community Development, assistant undersecretaries at the Ministry, directors and officials, global village visitors.
Buhumaid viewed the microenterprises projects of the participating families in the pavilion and the quality of the offered goods to reflect the UAE's pioneering and distinguished experiences in supporting productive families and achieving future aspirations and distinguished marketing ideas.
The participation of Emirati productive families in "Al Sanaa" pavilion comes within the framework of a project adopted by the Ministry and support of the Global Village administration as part of social responsibility, and the Ministry's keenness to invest in community development through home-based and micro projects for families, for the purpose of achieving economic and social gains within the framework of empowering the Emirati family and confirming their stability and cohesion.
Afra Buhumaid, Director of the Productive Families Department at the Ministry of Community Development, revealed that "Al Sanaa-14" pavilion at Global Village brings together this season (67) Emirati productive families of which women constitute about 90% of these families, whereas (59) families projects are run by women.
She pointed out that 10 young people participated in productive projects in the current season of Al-Sanaa pavilion, in addition to 6 senior citizens, 6 social security beneficiaries, and 1 project for people of determination. These productive families display different types of products such as food products, perfumes and scented bukhoor “dukhoon”, clothes and accessories, printed items, artworks, and handicrafts.
Afra Buhumaid stressed the keenness of the Ministry of Community Development to stimulate the participation of productive families with more competitive and qualitative ideas, based on the development vision pursued by the Ministry, in an effort to enhance the competitiveness and success of microenterprises and home based projects within "Al-Sanaa" project, to empower all the members of the society: women and men, youth and students, senior citizens and people of determination, who have qualitative and exceptional opportunities, to market their products and projects in a globally competitive environment.
“Al Sanaa" pavilion began in 2009 and continues until now whereas the number of participations has reached 887 productive families in 13 past editions until the end of 2021 while displayed products number reached 351,000.
