Alibaba Cloud has officially launched its second data center in Dubai, reinforcing its commitment to supporting businesses in the UAE and the wider Middle East with advanced cloud and AI solutions.
The announcement was made during GITEX Global 2025, marking a significant milestone since the company established its first Dubai data center in 2016.
The new facility is part of Alibaba Group’s broader plan to invest RMB 380 billion (US$53 billion) in AI and cloud infrastructure over the next three years. The expansion aims to enhance cloud resilience, network performance, and disaster recovery capabilities while offering a comprehensive suite of services, including big data, databases, elastic computing, storage, and AI-powered solutions.
Eric Wan, Vice President of Alibaba Cloud International, highlighted the region’s strategic role in accelerating AI adoption and fostering collaboration across public and private sectors. The data center will support local and global enterprises in scaling operations and leveraging AI technologies securely.
The launch coincides with several high-profile partnerships announced at GITEX Global 2025. Wio Bank will use Alibaba Cloud’s AI platforms to develop intelligent banking agents, while BYOND Asia plans to deploy its HoloMe digital human solutions across the Middle East using Alibaba Cloud’s infrastructure. ACCUMED has migrated its healthcare management systems to the cloud, adopting AI for improved operational efficiency. The Game Company will power its AI-native gaming platform on Alibaba Cloud, and Atos has expanded its reseller partnership to bring Alibaba Cloud solutions to regional and Asia Pacific enterprises.
Since entering the Middle East market, Alibaba Cloud has built a robust ecosystem spanning banking, media, public sector, and technology partners. The new Dubai data center strengthens its ability to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud services to meet the region’s growing digital demands.
