The UAE Artificial Intelligence Office has announced that Coders HQ, a national initiative dedicated to advancing the country’s programming community, has received accreditation from Apple as an authorised education training centre.

The accreditation brings Coders HQ into a global network of Apple-accredited educational institutions. It gives the initiative access to specialised learning resources and training programmes focused on app development using Apple’s Swift programming language, along with opportunities for trainer development and knowledge exchange with institutions worldwide.

The announcement was made as part of UAE Codes Day, marked every year on October 29, and reflects the country’s push to build digital skills and widen access to specialised programming education.

Through the accreditation, Coders HQ will offer app development training supported by Apple’s Develop in Swift resources. Participants will gain hands-on experience in designing, developing and testing applications while building creative thinking and technical problem-solving skills. Aspiring developers will also be introduced to international programming initiatives and app development challenges.

Abdelrahman Al Mahmoud, Director at the UAE Artificial Intelligence Office, said the accreditation reflects the UAE’s long-term commitment to investing in people and equipping them with the skills to help shape the digital future.

“A competitive digital economy begins with people who have the skills to embrace emerging technologies,”

he said.

Coders HQ was launched in January 2022 under the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as part of the National Programme for Coders. Through partnerships with global technology companies, it aims to strengthen the programming community and help emerging digital talent develop technology-driven projects.
