Apple Music has officially unveiled City Charts. The tech giant has launched the new rankings, which are accessible via the Browse or Search pages, or through a Siri command.
In a press release, the company explained:
"Apple Music has just unveiled City Charts, becoming one of the first streaming platforms to spotlight the music making waves in over 100 cities around the world.
"While standard charts rank music based simply on number of plays, Apple Music's City Charts combine plays and additional signs of local popularity to rank the top 25 songs gaining momentum with listeners locally, truly highlighting the local culture and individual music scenes of the cities they represent.
"With City Charts, Apple Music brings both global and local artists to the forefront of a new destination for music discovery."
UK cities featured are Manchester, Glasgow, Liverpool, London and Birmingham, while Dublin, Ireland also appears. There are also a lot of cities across the United States and Canada, from Calgary, Montreal and Winnipeg to Austin, Los Angeles and Phoenix.
Other new features coming to Apple Music subscribers include moving images on artist detail pages, lyric sharing and both pages and search for record labels.
