Dubai’s Endowments and Minors’ Trust Foundation (AWQAF Dubai) has partnered with Al Jalila Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), to establish a sustainable endowment project aimed at supporting cancer treatment.

This initiative aligns with the humanitarian vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.

The partnership entails the construction of a seven-storey endowment building in Dubai South, with a total cost exceeding AED38.5 million. Al Jalila Foundation will contribute AED30 million for construction, while the land, valued at AED8.5 million, is owned by the foundation. The project, to be completed within 16 months, will be managed by AWQAF Dubai, ensuring that all generated revenues support patient treatment at the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital.

Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of AWQAF Dubai, highlighted the initiative as a testament to the foundation’s commitment to advancing healthcare and alleviating financial burdens on cancer patients and their families. He affirmed that AWQAF Dubai will oversee construction and investment management to maximize benefits for underprivileged patients.

Dr. Raja Eisa Al Gurg, Chairperson of Al Jalila Foundation, expressed gratitude for the collaboration, emphasizing its role in strengthening national efforts to enhance cancer care. She reiterated that the project embodies the UAE’s commitment to sustainable humanitarian work, ensuring long-term support for the region’s first comprehensive cancer hospital.

This initiative marks a significant step in fostering a healthier, more inclusive society, reinforcing Dubai’s leadership in charitable and healthcare advancements.
