Boehringer Ingelheim, in partnership with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), has set a new Guinness World Record for the “Largest light mosaic (image)” at Dubai Festival City Mall on November 16th.
The record-breaking mosaic, made entirely of energy-efficient LED bulbs, illuminated the theme “Illuminating Connections, Inspiring Hope,” aiming to raise awareness of cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic (CRM) diseases.
CRM diseases, which include heart failure, chronic kidney disease, and type 2 diabetes, affect over one billion people worldwide. These diseases are interconnected and often co-exist, creating a significant burden for patients. The vibrant mosaic symbolized the link between the heart, kidneys, and pancreas, representing the complex relationships among these conditions.
The initiative focused on the importance of early diagnosis and holistic management of CRM diseases. DHA health educators provided valuable information on risk factors and urged the public to seek early medical consultation. Participants were invited to add light bulbs to the mosaic, symbolizing hope and the power of collective action. Celebrity Kris Fade joined the event to further promote the cause.
Derek O’Leary, Regional Managing Director at Boehringer Ingelheim, emphasized the company’s commitment to alleviating the burden of CRM diseases through innovation and collaboration. Dr. Mohamed Meshref, Medical Director at Boehringer Ingelheim, highlighted the importance of early intervention, healthy lifestyles, and stress management in preventing disease progression.
Boehringer Ingelheim’s dedication to improving the lives of those affected by CRM diseases remains unwavering, with the company’s commitment to transformative healthcare and scientific progress playing a pivotal role in this campaign.
