Bolt, a global leader in ride-hailing services operating in over 600 cities across 50 countries, officially launched its operations in the UAE on 2nd December, coinciding with the nation’s 53rd Eid Al Etihad celebrations.
The launch reflects the UAE’s commitment to progress and technological advancement, enhancing transportation options for residents and visitors.
The move aligns with Dubai’s vision to transition 80% of taxi trips to e-hailing platforms in the coming years. Through the user-friendly Bolt app, customers can book rides, track drivers, and make seamless payments, offering a convenient and premium experience.
Mansoor Alfalasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, expressed his excitement about the launch, stating,
“Bolt’s arrival adds a valuable mobility option, ensuring that transportation in the UAE becomes more accessible. The platform’s integration of cars, taxis, and micro-mobility solutions caters to Dubai’s growing demand.”
Initially, Bolt will operate a fleet of limousines listed by renowned partners, including Dubai Taxi Company vehicles. The fleet offers both affordable and luxury options. The platform’s next phase will expand services to include taxis and diversify into e-scooters, car rentals, and delivery services, with potential plans to expand to other emirates.
Eduard Suchánek, Regional Manager for the Middle East & North Africa, noted the strategic significance of the UAE launch, saying,
“Dubai’s global connectivity and increasing market demand make it an ideal hub for Bolt’s regional expansion. This launch reinforces our commitment to innovation and aligns with the UAE’s progressive vision.”
Bolt’s entry into the UAE promises to transform mobility while contributing to a sustainable and technologically advanced future for the region.
