Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO), has partnered with the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), to showcase the unique culinary concepts of homegrown businesses from the ‘Proudly from Dubai’ network at the ‘Al Marmoom: Film in the Desert’ festival.

The second edition of the festival, which kicked off today at the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve, will run until 11th December.

As part of the collaboration, 14 of Dubai’s most-loved homegrown food outlets and cafés have brought a range of their best-selling dishes, desserts and popular coffee blends to the ‘Proudly from Dubai Market’ at the festival. Visitors to the festival can savour a range of delectable food and beverages and experience a diverse range of cuisines at the enclosure dedicated to the outlets.

Fatma Almulla, City Branding Executive at Brand Dubai, said,

“Brand Dubai is pleased to partner with Dubai Culture to offer local F&B businesses from its ‘Proudly from Dubai’ network an opportunity to showcase their unique products and culinary creations at this unique Festival that celebrates homegrown and regional creative talent. Through this partnership, we seek to raise the visibility of promising homegrown businesses and support their entrepreneurial journey and growth. This partnership also represents the first participation of members of the ‘Proudly from Dubai’ network at an external event. The festival gives them a platform to connect with Dubai’s food-loving community and expand their customer base.”

The ‘Proudly from Dubai Market’ at the event shines the spotlight on the gastronomic creations of 14 Dubai-born outlets: Grain; Must; Barakat; WrkBay; Saddle; Ducaf; Oath Café; Mirzam; She Burger; To the Moon and Back; Chai & Co; Mini BBQ; G.O.A.T Burger; and Triples.

The ‘Al Marmoom: Film in the Desert’ festival aims to promote local and regional filmmaking talent and encourage the production of creative films that convey both Dubai’s modern ethos and its heritage. The festival is aligned with the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority’s vision to raise Dubai’s position as a global cultural centre, a creative hub and a destination for talent.

The festival features screenings of short films, interactive workshops and discussions with industry experts, live performances and an F&B space. The event, taking place at the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve, is open to the public.

‘Proudly from Dubai’, an initiative launched by Brand Dubai to highlight the success stories of businesses born and initiated in Dubai, aims to tell the story of innovation and creativity shaping Dubai’s emerging business and entrepreneurial culture.
