Brand Dubai Reveals New Artwork at DIFC Gate for #ZayedAndRashid Campaign
Brand Dubai, the creative division of the Government of Dubai Media Office, has revealed an impressive new artwork at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Gate to honor the legacy of the UAE's Founding Fathers, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
This tribute, launched as part of the #ZayedAndRashid campaign, aligns with Flag Day and Eid Al Etihad, two significant national occasions celebrating unity and patriotism in the UAE.
Standing 50 meters tall, the artwork portrays the visionary leaders against the backdrop of the modern UAE, embodying the dreams they held for the nation during its early years. The imagery is drawn from the original photography of Ramesh Shukla, whose iconic photos captured the leaders' deep commitment to the nation and its people. Shukla’s documentation of the UAE’s journey highlights the country’s remarkable growth over the last five decades.
Adding a contemporary dimension, Emirati artist Maitha Demithan designed the backdrop, using a unique technique that merges photography and three-dimensional art. Her work, showcased internationally, enriches the installation with a striking visual depth that symbolizes the UAE’s legacy and progress.
Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, noted,
“The DIFC installation symbolizes the unity and vision that have shaped the UAE since its inception, inspiring generations to uphold these enduring values.”
Echoing this sentiment, Saleh Al Akrabi, Chief Real Estate Officer at DIFC, expressed DIFC’s pride in commemorating the UAE’s founders, remarking,
“Our leaders are role models in work, innovation, and patriotism.”
This installation, embodying the nation’s unity and visionary leadership, resonates deeply as the UAE marks another year of nationhood.
