BYD has signed a landmark agreement with Safeline Group to supply 12 all-electric vehicles, marking the start of a full transition to electric mobility for one of the UAE’s key logistics firms.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed on July 2, was facilitated by Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility and underscores a growing shift toward sustainable transport in the region. It supports both corporate and national goals, including the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 initiative.

Safeline Group, a major player in electrical and mechanical distribution, plans to fully convert its fleet from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles within three years. The initial delivery of BYD electric vehicles will lay the foundation for this transformation.

The company already employs battery-powered forklifts in its warehouses and is now evaluating commercial electric vehicles to extend electrification across all operations.

Dr. Aboobacker Kuttikol, Managing Director of Safeline Group, said the partnership reflects their commitment to long-term sustainability and innovation.

Mohammad Kassem, Retail Director at BYD Al-Futtaim, noted the alliance reinforces Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility’s role in building a cleaner transport ecosystem across the UAE.

The move positions Safeline Group as a pioneer of green mobility in the distribution sector and strengthens BYD’s footprint in the UAE’s growing EV market.
