Calidus Holding Group has introduced AlDeraa, a new short range air defence system designed to counter the growing threat of drones and loitering munitions in modern conflict zones.

The system is now in development and aims to give users faster, more reliable protection against rapidly evolving unmanned aerial threats.

The company said the project reflects its push to deliver tactical solutions that can be deployed quickly across different environments. AlDeraa is engineered around rapid response and high readiness, allowing it to operate on both fixed and mobile platforms depending on user needs.

Built with modular integration in mind, the system connects with existing C2 and C4I structures to support broader, multi-layered air defence networks. It incorporates advanced sensors along with soft-kill and hard-kill options to boost detection and engagement capabilities against low-signature targets.

Calidus noted that the system is tailored to confront asymmetric threats, particularly the low-cost drones and kamikaze-style munitions that have become increasingly common. Its technologies are designed to improve classification accuracy and enable swift, graduated responses that protect critical assets and ground units.

Dr. Khalifa Murad Alblooshi, Managing Director and CEO of Calidus Holding Group, said the project responds to the rapid rise of aerial threats. He highlighted its lightweight logistics, customisable design, and compatibility with command and control systems.

Ahmed Rashed AlZaabi, Head of Missiles and Defence Systems, added that AlDeraa delivers an end-to-end operational approach, from early detection to neutralisation, with strong capabilities against swarm attacks. The system is intended to offer dependable performance even in the most complex operational settings.
