Camb.AI today announced the launch of "MARS5", the world's most capable open-source Artificial Intelligence speech emulator, which excels in performance replication and generates voices and texts in hundreds of languages.

The AI speech emulator is well aligned with Dubai’s goals of fostering innovative and unconventional AI research, inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, who believes that the future belongs to those who can imagine, design, and implement it.

The launch took place during the AI Retreat, organised by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence Applications in collaboration with the National Program for Artificial Intelligence. This was the largest gathering of its kind to accelerate the adoption and use of AI applications. The event was attended by more than 1,000 decision-makers, experts, and officials from both the government and private sectors.

Camb.AI commended the efforts of Dubai and the UAE in ensuring a unique environment that transforms ideas into reality and builds distinguished AI companies originating in Dubai. In doing so, Dubai cements its position as a global destination for entrepreneurs and researchers to start their success stories right here.

MARS5 combines different AI models that uniquely integrate texts, emotions, performance, and meaning, simplifying complex processes such as mathematical equations, movies, animations, and more in just a few seconds. It is open-source in English and trained on data for over 150,000 hours using 1.2 billion param. MARS5 can be accessed in more than 140 other languages and has unique capabilities for voice recognition and real-time translation, representing a new era for AI models.

The company also highlighted the collaborative efforts with AWS that supported the model through GPU computing, and NVIDIA, which facilitated access to generative AI for all through its H100 GPUs and the wide-scale Triton Inference Server model to expand the inference scope for its MARS and BOLI models. The model's early investors include DFDF, Courtside, TRTL, 5PointVentures, and Ikemori Ventures.
