Canva has signed an agreement with the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy to set up its regional headquarters in Dubai and provide support to 250,000 small and medium-sized enterprises and individuals over the next five years.
The deal, announced at the World Governments Summit 2026, aligns with the UAE’s goals for digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
The agreement was signed by Saeed Al Gergawi, Vice President of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, and Cliff Obrecht, Co-Founder and COO of Canva, in the presence of Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications.
Under the partnership, Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy will facilitate the establishment of Canva’s regional operations, helping the company expand its services locally and across the region. Canva will offer SMEs access to digital design and visual communication tools, enabling them to strengthen their digital presence, streamline content creation, and innovate without specialist design skills.
Set to launch this year, the initiative will provide SMEs with advanced tools for design, productivity, and innovation. Canva currently serves over 260 million users in more than 190 countries and has facilitated the creation of over 40 billion designs globally. In the UAE alone, more than 54 million designs were created on the platform in 2025.
“Dubai continues to strengthen its position as a global hub for technology and digital innovation, providing platforms that enable companies to grow,”
Al Olama said.
Obrecht added,
“Establishing our regional headquarters here allows us to work closely with small businesses, enterprises, and creators across the region, giving them access to Canva's suite of products to bring their ideas to life.”
Since 2013, Canva has transformed visual communication by offering an easy-to-use platform for creating content ranging from social media posts and presentations to websites and videos.
