The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) convened top financial leaders from around the world in Abu Dhabi for the Central Bank Data Leaders and Professionals Conference, emphasizing the pivotal role of data in shaping resilient central banking amid global uncertainty.
Held under the theme “Data – The Solid Foundation of Central Bank Operations in Times of Uncertainty,” the conference brought together senior officials from the CBUAE and more than 35 central banks and international financial institutions. The event focused on how data-driven innovation, artificial intelligence, and global collaboration can strengthen monetary policy and financial oversight.
Sessions explored the evolving data landscape, the integration of AI into financial systems, and the importance of robust data governance in driving smarter decision-making. Experts discussed best practices in managing data operating models, developing analytics frameworks, and aligning data investments with measurable outcomes.
Interactive panels showcased how data can be transformed into strategic assets to serve market participants, licensed institutions, and commercial entities. Participants also gained insights into the latest analytics toolkits used by central banks worldwide.
Ahmed Saeed Al Qamzi, Assistant Governor of Banking and Insurance Supervision at the CBUAE, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to advancing data capabilities and collaboration across global financial systems. He highlighted the completion of the first phase of the UAE’s central data management platform and the development of 20 machine learning applications to enhance supervisory reporting and risk management.
The conference reinforced the UAE’s position as a leader in leveraging advanced data analytics and AI to build a forward-looking, agile, and technology-driven financial ecosystem.
