The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) will host the 2026 Annual UAE Banks Reception in Bangkok on October 15, bringing together global financial leaders on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Group Annual Meetings.
The event is being organised with the Ministry of Finance and the UAE Banks Federation (UBF). It will take place in Thailand during the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.
Khaled Mohamed Balama, Governor of the CBUAE, will attend alongside Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, and Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, Chairman of the UAE Banks Federation. They will be joined by central bank governors, financial decision-makers, CEOs of banks operating in the UAE and senior representatives of international financial and banking institutions.

The reception reflects the central bank’s role in strengthening engagement with international financial institutions and expanding cross-border partnerships. It also creates room for cooperation and the exchange of expertise and insights among global financial and banking leaders.
By deepening these ties, the CBUAE aims to support the competitiveness of the country’s financial and banking sector, raise its international presence and reinforce the UAE’s position as a leading global financial centre.
