Kovalam Hosts Kerala Food Festival, Bringing Southern Charm to Dubai
Kovalam, located in the President Hotel Dubai, is a renowned 26-year-old Indian restaurant famous for its coastal Indian cuisine. Kovalam is proud to present a lively Kerala Food Festival scheduled to take place from the 15th of July to the 31st of July.
Curated by Chef Vinod Naik, the festival menu showcases a variety of authentic Kerala dishes, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, offering a culinary journey that tantalizes the taste buds. Guests can expect seafood specialties, fresh daily catches, rice specialties, and an exciting feature called Dubai's First Ever Kerala Seafood Boat, which will serve coastal delicacies and beverages.
The highlight of the festival is The Vallam Boat, priced at AED 399. This unique experience promises to transport guests straight to Kerala, serving 10 varieties of Cochin seafood alongside signature beverages in a wooden boat.
From the Kerala Food Festival menu, you can enjoy every meal possible! You can start with appetizers like Paripu Coins and Trivandrum Stuffed Nandu. For the main course, enjoy options like Chemba Puttu and Kadala Curry and Duck Roast with Kallappam. Seafood lovers can also try the Nirvana Meen Chatti and Kingfish Curry, and for dessert, there's Raggi Pudding Ice Cream and Palada Payasam
But there's more! Every day at the Kerala Food Festival, there will be an additional menu dedicated to one of the 14 districts of Kerala. Get ready to indulge in unique delicacies from Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad, and more. Some highlights from the special menu include Nei Pathiri, Kallumakkaya (Mussels) Fry, Malabar duck roast, Molagootal, Kappa and Meen Curry, Kappa Vevichathu, and Chemeen Curry.
Kovalam's Kerala food festival not only offers delicious food but also showcases the essence of Kerala culture, providing a unique and immersive experience.
Guests can participate in special events such as cultural performances, workshops on spice mixing, and traditional crafts, offering hands-on learning opportunities and exploration of Kerala culture. The festival also features Kerala's traditional music genres like Carnatic music, Sopana Sangeetham, and Folk songs presented in solo acts and live performances.
As a special gesture, Kovalam will present Jasmine Garlands to its female guests. For those interested in a deeper cultural immersion, Kovalam hosts Kerala-themed pop-up events with rotating exhibits displaying Kerala’s traditional attire, musical instruments, and historical artifacts, complemented by interactive elements for guests to engage actively with Kerala's rich heritage.
