Commercial Bank of Dubai posted a net profit before tax of AED 1,885 million for the first half of 2026, up 1.3 percent from the previous comparative period, as net loans crossed AED 100 billion for the first time.

Net profit after tax rose 1.2 percent to AED 1,716 million, while the bank maintained a top quartile return on equity of 20.92 percent after tax. Operating income climbed 2.7 percent to AED 2,900 million, driven by a 10.9 percent jump in non-funded income from treasury sales, investment income and trade activity, which offset a slight dip in net interest income.

Dr Bernd van Linder, CEO of CBD, attributed the results to the resilience of the bank's franchise and the strength of its customer relationships, along with disciplined risk management and healthy liquidity and capital positions.

Total assets reached AED 154.5 billion as of June 30 2026, up 2.6 percent year on year. Gross loans and advances grew 3.4 percent to AED 108.2 billion, while customer deposits rose to AED 107.7 billion, with low-cost current and savings accounts making up 51 percent of the total. The loan-to-deposit ratio stood at 96.74 percent, comfortably within Central Bank limits.

Asset quality improved as well, with the non-performing loan ratio falling to 3.60 percent. Capital adequacy remained strong at 14.13 percent.

During the first half, CBD partnered with Dubai Holding Real Estate to launch a new home financing programme covering the Nakheel, Meraas and Dubai Property portfolios, offering faster digital approvals and dedicated mortgage support. The bank was also named among Forbes Middle East's Top 100 Most Valuable Companies for 2026 and picked up industry recognition for its digital banking transformation efforts.

Fitch Ratings and Moody's both reaffirmed CBD's credit ratings with stable outlooks, citing sound capitalisation and prudent risk management.
