The Community Development Authority in Dubai has stepped up outreach efforts to check on the well-being of senior citizens and People of Determination, reinforcing its commitment to community care and social support.

The initiative reflects a human-centred approach aimed at maintaining close connections with residents while promoting reassurance and solidarity across society.

Teams from the Authority have been actively contacting senior citizens and People of Determination along with their families to understand their needs and provide continued support. Officials say the outreach reflects long-standing values of compassion, mutual care, and social cohesion that shape life in the United Arab Emirates.

The initiative aligns with the objectives of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the national focus on the Year of the Family, both of which place family stability and well-being at the centre of social development. Authorities say strengthening family connections plays a key role in building a cohesive and resilient society while preserving human dignity.

Maitha Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the Community Empowerment Sector at the CDA, said senior citizens and People of Determination hold a special place in the community. She noted that maintaining regular communication with them and their families remains a core part of the Authority’s mission, especially during times when reassurance and emotional support are most needed.

Beyond outreach calls, the CDA continues to publish awareness materials that guide families on supporting children, senior citizens, and People of Determination. These resources encourage calm communication at home, balanced news consumption, and positive family dialogue.

The Authority also organised a virtual session titled “Managing Emotions to Support Families,” providing practical tools to help households understand children’s emotions and maintain psychological balance while reinforcing the family’s role as a source of safety and reassurance.
