DAE Expands Fleet with $1 Billion Acquisition of 17 Next-Gen Aircraft

Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Ltd has announced agreements to acquire 17 next-generation aircraft for approximately $1 billion.

The newly acquired aircraft portfolio consists of 89% narrow-body planes, with 80% manufactured by Airbus and 20% by Boeing. These aircraft are currently leased to 11 airlines across 10 countries.

This strategic acquisition is set to enhance DAE’s fleet composition and operational efficiency. Upon completion, the deal will reduce the company’s weighted average passenger fleet age to 6.9 years and extend its average lease term to 6.6 years. Additionally, DAE’s pro-forma fleet composition will be adjusted to 46% Airbus, 49% Boeing, and 5% ATR 72-600 aircraft.

Firoz Tarapore, CEO of DAE, emphasized the importance of this acquisition in mitigating supply chain disruptions.

“Amid ongoing orderbook delivery delays, we are continuing to source attractive assets in the secondary market to meet our growth and portfolio management targets,”

he stated.

This latest investment reaffirms DAE’s commitment to expanding its global leasing portfolio with modern and fuel-efficient aircraft.
