UAE car buyers are increasingly favoring affordability, reliability and long-term value over brand prestige, according to new marketplace data from dubizzle, the country's largest automotive platform.
The findings, based on a comparison of vehicle searches in June 2026 against the previous month, show a clear shift toward practicality. Japanese manufacturers, led by Toyota and Mitsubishi, recorded some of the strongest growth in buyer interest, while searches for vehicles priced below AED 200,000 significantly outpaced those in the luxury segment.
Toyota remained the most viewed brand on the platform, drawing more than 3.6 million views in June and posting the highest month-on-month growth of any manufacturer. Mitsubishi also gained strong momentum, while Kia, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz saw healthy increases in engagement. Japanese vehicles as a whole attracted over 9.5 million ad views, underscoring their reputation for durability and resale value.
Model-level data reflected the same trend. The Toyota Corolla Cross was among the fastest-growing listings, with interest nearly doubling month-on-month, while the Toyota Land Cruiser continued to draw exceptional engagement. The Mitsubishi Outlander also performed strongly, pointing to sustained demand for practical family SUVs.
Affordability emerged as the standout theme. Vehicles priced under AED 100,000 saw the sharpest rise in interest, generating more than 16.5 million views, while the AED 100,000 to 200,000 bracket also grew steadily.
Sherif Magdy, Sales Director at dubizzle Cars, said buyers are now weighing long-term ownership costs such as maintenance, fuel efficiency and resale value rather than focusing solely on purchase price. He noted that brands delivering consistent quality and durability continue to perform strongly on the platform.
The data reflects broader shifts in consumer behavior as the UAE's automotive market continues to evolve.
