Dubai’s selection to host the first edition of this global forum in this region reflects the city’s leading position at the heart of this vibrant sector in the MENA region
Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), and Skift Inc., are collaborating to host the inaugural Skift Global Forum East in Dubai from 13-15 December at Madinat Jumeirah.
The first-ever extension of the world’s flagship travel conference to be held in the region, Skift Global Forum East will draw together travel and tourism leaders from across the globe to discuss innovations and trends that will shape the future of travel in the region and globally. The Forum is also set to explore the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region’s travel sector in a larger context and delve into the future of the industry.
Issam Kazim, CEO, Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, said:
“Dubai’s selection to host the first edition of this global forum in this region reflects the city’s leading position at the heart of this vibrant sector in the MENA region. The city’s unique experience spanning decades of excellence in the fields of tourism, hospitality and travel, as well as its exceptional hosting of major international events such as Expo 2020 Dubai, are all elements that have enhanced the trust of global stakeholders in Dubai’s ability to serve as a vital partner in the development of the travel and tourism sector both regionally and internationally.”
The two-day Forum will explore the status of the industry in the post-pandemic era, the intersection of technology and marketing, and consumer-facing advances across user experience and design. The event will also discuss how sustainability will play an ever-increasing role in the business of travel, how progressive modern economies prioritise travel as their future economic engine, and many more topics.
Skift Global Forum East will feature a host of talks by leaders, changemakers and innovators from leading global travel brands such as Emirates Airline, Jumeirah Group, Dubai Airports, Hilton, Wego, Kerzner International, Etihad Airways and many more. The event’s various discussions will facilitate the exchange of global ideas and collaboration between the West, Middle East and Asia.
Since its inception in 2012, Skift has become the most influential brand in global travel. It has pioneered a new type of hybrid digital and in-person B2B media company -- building a deep global impact with a small footprint enabled in large part by tech and data analysis.
Other key topics to be discussed at the Forum include consumer-facing global trends and macro-forcing factors for the year ahead; how hospitality will adapt to the continued blending of lifestyle and work in travel; the growth of emerging inbound markets and how suppliers are adapting to these developments; how technology, collaboration and regional growth will spur demand; how meetings and events will foster growth for destinations in the future, and how the Middle East will be a vital focal point for global tourism in the years ahead.
