Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has reaffirmed its commitment to the Dubai Digital Strategy, aiming to position Dubai as a leading global digital city.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, highlighted the utility's ongoing efforts to leverage Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies to drive digital transformation, improve transaction efficiency, and enhance stakeholder satisfaction.
In the first half of 2024, DEWA recorded over 6.7 million digital transactions, marking an 11% increase from approximately 6 million transactions during the same period in 2023. These transactions included more than 1.1 million via DEWA’s website, over 2.2 million through its smart app, and 3.3 million across various digital channels developed in collaboration with partners. This surge in digital engagement has boosted the smart adoption of DEWA’s services to 99.2%. Additionally, DEWA has achieved digital integration for more than 90 projects with 65 government and private organisations by the end of 2023.
Al Tayer attributed this growth to the visionary guidance of UAE leadership, particularly the directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He emphasized DEWA’s commitment to the Services 360 Policy and the UAE Digital Government Strategy 2025, aimed at providing seamless, proactive, and integrated services that exceed customer expectations. DEWA’s focus on innovation and collaboration with various entities enhances the customer journey, reflecting the organization's forward-looking approach.
DEWA offers its services through multiple digital platforms, including its website and smart app available on iOS, Android, and Huawei devices. Additionally, DEWA's virtual employee, Rammas, powered by ChatGPT, assists with various channels such as DEWA’s website, smart app, Facebook page, Google Home, robots, WhatsApp Business, and Amazon’s Alexa. These initiatives ensure secure, efficient, and user-friendly services for all stakeholders, aligning with DEWA’s goal of enhancing Dubai’s status as a global digital leader.
