DEWA and EPRI Strengthen Collaboration to Advance Renewable Energy and Innovation
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), a leading U.S. organization in electric power research and development, have explored avenues for enhanced cooperation in renewable energy training, network modernization, and energy storage solutions.
During a high-level meeting at DEWA’s headquarters, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, welcomed an EPRI delegation led by its President and CEO, Arshad Mansoor. Senior DEWA officials, including Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence, and Ghanem Al Qassim, Senior Manager - Solar Power, were also present.
Discussions centered on strengthening strategic collaboration in research and development (R&D), sustainability, and innovation in the energy sector. Al Tayer reiterated DEWA’s commitment to global partnerships that enhance national expertise, drive climate action, and accelerate the transition to clean energy and digital transformation.
This partnership aligns with Dubai’s long-term sustainability goals, including the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, which aim to achieve 100% clean energy production by 2050. Key areas of cooperation between DEWA and EPRI include specialized training in smart grids, energy efficiency, cybersecurity, and renewable energy systems integration.
These initiatives will enhance DEWA employees’ technical capabilities, foster knowledge exchange, and support the development of innovative, eco-friendly energy solutions for a more sustainable future.
